How to send a parcel from China to Uzbekistan from 1 kg: what is allowed, what is not, and how long it takes

A supplier sample, a spare part, a Taobao order — small shipments follow their own rules. A short guide to weight, limits, prohibitions and paperwork.

A small shipment is not a «tiny container». Its economics are different: the rate is by weight or volume rather than per slot, there is less paperwork — but the chance of loss is higher, because the box travels with hundreds of other people's. Here is what to know before you ship.

Weight: actual or volumetric

You pay for the greater of the two. Volumetric weight is length × width × height in centimetres divided by 6000 for air and roughly 4000–5000 for road. A 60×40×40 cm box of pillows weighs 3 kg but 16 kg volumetric for air. That is why light bulky items are cheaper to send by road and worth packing tighter.

What cannot go as a parcel

  • Lithium batteries separate from devices — only under dangerous-goods rules; air may refuse.
  • Aerosols, perfume in volume, flammable liquids — the same restrictions.
  • Medicines and supplements without supporting documents — held at control.
  • Commercial quantities disguised as «personal effects» — that is import with duties, and customs can tell.
